cheapest airfare destinations in the United States. Currently 24
commercial airlines serve Las Vegas, with numerous other charter airlines
offering even more heavily discounted fares. If you are coming from outside the U.S., please be

Holding C8 in Las Vegas will
allow more people to reach Convergence for less money than destinations on
either Coast.

Trains serving Las Vegas are often the very comfortable Superliners which offer a two-level sightseeing car, sleeping accommodations in various classes, dining, movies, and local guides. Even the coach seats recline for sleeping. One such train, the Southwest Chief, serves Chicago - Los Angeles stopping in Kansas City and other smaller towns on the way. In August of 2001, a ticket from Chicago to Las Vegas on the Southwest Chief was $279.00 round trip. This did not include any sleeping accommodations or trips to the dining car. Las Vegas is also served by Greyhound. While not as luxurious as travel by train, Greyhound buses are almost always faster and cheaper than traveling with Amtrak. For those who would prefer to drive ala "Fear and Loathing", Las Vegas is served by several Interstates and Highways. Below are some sample distances from major cities to Las Vegas.
Public Transport is available in Las Vegas in the form of buses. The local bus service is Citizens
Area Transit and service is provided from 5:30am to
1:30am on most routes. The fare is $1.25 to $2.00 depending on the route. Many times, for shorter hops,
it will be just as convienent and cheap to share a cab.
