AngelSil |
Co-Chairperson and Travel |
Contact |
AngelSil is an old-school goth with an extensive background in cat-herding.
Currently moderator of the IndyGoth list and an active member on alt.gothic,
CorpGoth and (too) many other lists. She has attended 3 previous Convergences
and Hallowmas, as well as assisted in the planning of Corporate Goth gatherings
in Chicago. Her goal is to make Convergence 8 a welcoming and happy experience
for all those who can attend and make attendance possible for as many of our
net-goth family as possible. |

Laura K..... |
Co-Chairperson |
Contact |
Laura (aka spacekadt or teloote) has been a net.goth for 5 years and counting.
She went to C6 in Seattle and was hooked on Convergence from there, crossing the
country to attend C7. She's a subscriber to many local and national mailing
lists such as CorpGoth, LAGoth and many scene-related Yahoogroups, and she used
to post regularly on alt.gothic.fashion and lurk on alt.gothic. Laura has been
in the trenches with a few non-scene related conventions that drew over 3,000
attendees and is a coordinator by trade. You can often spot Laura in Vegas at
the Las Vegas Hilton enjoying a Warp Core Breech (Razzmatazz and five kinds of
rum on dry ice) at Quark's Bar. |

Éilis Corum-Peale |
Spokesperson |
Contact |
Middle school teacher by day, socialite by night, and a two-Convergence
veteran, Éilis has been in "the scene" since 1990, and a net.goth for five
years, known as iluminaria and Eilis40. She counts alt.gothic,
alt.gothic.fashion, netgoth.co.uk, CorpGoth, LAgoth and a gaggle of mailing
lists among her online haunts. Éilis schleps over to Vegas at every opportunity
and is very familiar with the city and its hidden treasures. She is happy to
bring her talents as a former Washington DC journalist and her knowledge of Sin
City to the C8 Vegas committee as Spokesmodel and Muse. |

Thom Truelove |
Events |
Contact |
It has been said that Thom Truelove, aka Zophiel, is a goth on
fast-forward. He comes to the scene, both live and net-based, from the
Philadelphia area and has been the promoter of club nights and
web-community based live events. In person, Thom is neat-yet-creepy; he's
somewhere between the Joker and gothic Dennis Miller. He can create fun
from a bar napkin and a box of matches. There is a desire within this man
to create congenial circumstances for everyone. |

Carrie Monster |
DJs Liaison |
Contact |
CarrieMonster has been a Dj in the Chicago goth scene for over 9 years
and has been a net.goth since 1998. She currently DJs at Hex on Fridays
in Chicago and has travelled to other cities to DJ and mingle with the
scene. She has also been involved with GothCon since 2000. Carrie brings
a lot of fun (and glitter) to whatever event she attends. |

Russell Scott |
Band Liaison |
Contact |
Russell Scott is a long-time participant and supporter of underground
music and culture on two coasts and currently works in multiple roles as
a musician, DJ and remixer. Recent contributions to the dark subculture
include a long running position as a DJ at Sanctuary@Lace in Las Vegas,
an expanding presence as the driving force behind the musical unit Entropy,
remixes for well known (and some not so well known) electronic bands, and
countless hours of subversive radio-based entertainment. Renowned in Sin
City as a guy who "knows his stuff" and lives and breathes the music he
loves, Russell's mission is to bring the finest cross-section of new and
established bands the underground has to offer to Las Vegas. |

Filigree |
Hotel |
Contact |
Drawn from N. CA to Las Vegas in January of 1996, Filigree has worked in the
intervening 5+ years to make both LV and its goth scene a home to her.
Likewise, going online for the first time in 1996, she has since been drawn
to alt.gothic.fashion time and again and considers herself a regular of the
newsgroup.
Filigree is active in the local goth scene and supports many of the events,
in addition to attending the long-running goth/industrial night, Sanctuary.
She has been a contributing member of the local goth e-list since its

Sabine |
Internet Liaison |
Contact |
Geek, net.head, writer, there are many ways to say "person with no life,"
and they all mean sabine. A regular participant in her local goth scene, sabine
has also been active online since 1994, reading and intermittently posting to
alt.gothic and alt.gothic.fashion for the past four years. She was a former
regular and channel op on IRC's #altgothic and #agf until time constraints
limited her participation, and she briefly moderated the gothfashion list. When
not working in front of her computer, sabine likes to play in front of her
computer. That, or rip its insides out. The author of one book (yes, it's out
of print) and dozens of articles for nationally-distributed magazines, sabine
is very proud to be assisting with the content writing for the C8 Las Vegas bid.
Hey, it keeps her off the streets. Which is just what she likes. |

Gabby Watson |
Finance Liaison |
Contact |
Gabby Watson, our Godfather and financial genius, likes swirly girl music
(Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, Halou, Bel Canto). Besides being a corpgoth in the truest sense
(FINANCE!), he also has his own radio station (
http://www.live365.com/stations/213994) and
has worked as a club promoter in San Diego. If he looks familiar, it may be that you saw
him at C6 or warming a barstool at the Warwick during C7. |

Angulique |
Babygoth Liaison |
Contact |
Angulique is a local native in the Las Vegas gothic scene who
is easily identifiable by her ever-present cat ears. Being the only
committee member under 21, she speaks out in the interests of
Babygoths. She has been in "the scene" since 1994, and a net.goth
since 1995 (actively since 1998). Also, she is half owner of
Deviance Designs (
http://www.angelfire.com/goth/deviance), a former
Avon Beauty Advisor, moderator of the mailing lists SpookyChicks and
SpookyBrides, self-serving Webmistress, lover of deathrock and so
much more. She is a frequent poster on alt.gothic.fashion, her
LiveJournal, and many, many mailing lists. |

Bob Westphal |
Radio Broadcaster |
Contact |
Host of the NYC's longest-running, prime-time "dark music" radio
show, "The Shape of Things to Come," Bob Westphal (aka TheOneBob or
the gothic Dick Clark) fights the never-ending battle to keep the
music alive and kicking and on the airwaves in the NYC area.
Broadcasting on 89.1 WFDU-FM for over 15 years, his enthusiasm is
undiminished for this ever-changing musical genre. Bob's most recent
contribution brought something new to Convergence... a voice. That
voice took the form of "Radio C7," a 9+ hour long, streaming broadcast
programmed in it's entirety with music and interviews with artists and
musicians who appeared at C7, as well as music from all the bands from
Convergences gone by. Bob has also spun discs in many of the NYC area
genre clubs and events, including Limelight, Downtime, the Roxy, Irving
Plaza, Contempt and Voltaire's Re-Animation. In his spare time, Bob is
a project manager and migrant trekker. |
