Venue
"A while he stood, expecting
Their universal shout and high applause
To fill his ear;" - Book 10
Spectrum Note to the Babygoths! The legal drinking age in Québec is 18 years of age, so Convergence attendees in the 18 plus age group will be able to participate fully in all evening events.

The Spectrum
Our chosen venue for the Friday and Saturday nights is The Spectrum, a location which has been an institution in the Montréal live music scene for the past 20 years, hosting a variety of acts ranging from jazz great Miles Davis to Einsturzende Neubauten and everyone's favorite eccentric German punk, Nina Hagen. Edouard Locke's famous dance troupe, La La La Human Steps, who toured with David Bowie, have also performed at The Spectrum. It is arguably the city's most popular venue and is used as the location for major events such as the Montréal Jazz Festival and the Montréal FrancoFolies.

The club's spacious interior includes a main seating area plus dancefloor and a balcony. Inside the club, hundreds of lights adorn the walls and black velvet curtains hide the stage upon which the unholy festivities of this fallen race shall transpire.

The Spectrum is located at 318 Rue Ste Catherine in downtown Montréal, mere blocks away from the official hotel. The main floor, which is the location of the stage and dancefloor, is fully wheelchair accessible.

Foufounes Électriques
Foufounes Électricques One of the oldest alternative clubs in North America, Foufounes Électriques has hosted such acts as Switchblade Symphony, KMFDM, Genitorturers, Sonic Youth and Alien Sex Fiend. Punks, goths, rivetheads and ravers can be found sharing a beer on one of the patios or watching a performance on the upstairs stage area.

On Sunday June 2 Convergence VII will take over the top floors of "Foufs" for The War In Heaven Masquerade Ball. Stake your claim on the dancefloor or relax in the more laid-back atmosphere of one of the terraces as Oldschool and Newschool DJs join in battle.

Foufounes Électriques is located at 87 Rue Ste Catherine in downtown Montréal, mere blocks away from the official hotel. The main floor is wheelchair accessible. Although the building lacks an elevator to the second floor, the staff are known to be very friendly and accommodating to those who might need assistance, and wheelchairs are a common sight on the dancefloor.
