Hotel
We have located a potential Hotel match!!It is the Omni Hotel. It is in Downtown Atlanta and faces the Olympic Centennial Park. It has a number of restaurants nearby, several meeting rooms and several large ball room spaces. Rates for rooms at the Omni hotel have been revised to $99 for a single/double occupancy and $109 for a triple/quad occupancy. The Omni is starting to look better and better for us as a venue. Travel time to L5P and Virginia Highlands from the Omni is about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Points of interest nearby are CNN (in the same complex), Centennial Park, and underground Atlanta. The Omni Hotel hosted Atlanta Fantasy Fair a number of years ago. It most recently hosted a local Hacker con. Strangeness isn't terribly strange to them. Bear in mind that we are still looking for something potentially better if it comes up. Our particular points of interest in the hotel is Price and facilities. $100 for single occupancy seems to be a cap in Atlanta (downtown) for a good room and a good hotel staff. We may potentially find something else. We intend on finding the best possible deal. Aside from the main Hotel that we finally settle on, there are a whole slew of good hotels Downtown ranging from very cheap to very swank. More information on alternate hotels and locations/price will be made available. ShoppingAtlanta has a very good selection of shops for all sorts of clothes. Most of the stores are in the Little 5 Points area or the Virginia Highlands area. Va-Hi and L5P are east of Atlanta and are centered on Virginia Ave/Highland Ave and along Euclid Ave/Moreland Ave respectively. The areas are effectively bisected by Ponce de Leon Ave just inside the Atlanta City Limits. Clothing/Shoes:
