III. Schedule / Venues
Thursday, 24 April, 2014
Friday, 25 April, 2014
Saturday, 26 April 2014
Sunday, 27 April, 2014
Venue:
Official evening events will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Bottom Lounge (1375 W. Lake Street, Chicago) one of the city's best music spaces and host to many goth & goth friendly events (for example, American Gothic Productions holds their Back to the Grave & Noctronica events there, as well as the occasional party for the 25+ year running Nocturna.) The venue is arranged in what we believe to be a great way for Convergence, with three rooms each providing their own distinct character & function. The main room for bands & DJs/dancing boasts prime sound & lighting, a corner bar, the cleanest & most well-lit restrooms of virtually any concert venue and is open to 17+. The club upstairs, The Volcano Room, is 21+ only. It features another great dance floor, large bar & an amazing roof top garden (which allows smoking) with simply awesome views of the downtown skyline. The front room downstairs is open to 17+ and has a large full bar and restaurant (fuel for dancing!) which is open during the duration of the night. All three rooms (plus the rooftop garden) will be utilized for Convergence 20.
The distance between our official hotel, the Congress Plaza- and Bottom Lounge is a mere 2.75 miles!

It is the centerpiece of Grant Park, the city's grand "front yard," and is set within a handsomely landscaped garden, one of Chicago's finest examples of the Beaux-Arts-style landscape design.
Afterwards, you are encouraged to join us as we make the 10 minute walk north down Michigan Avenue to one of Chicago's newer landmarks, Millennium Park, where group photo number two in front of the famous mirrored "bean" sculpture (officially known as Cloud Gate) will take place.
