Events Of course, every Convergence has some things in common: vendors, meals, and the evening events. Ours will be no different. For people who arrive on Thursday, we will invade one of the many awesome bars along Main Street. And join MadMiah at The No Name Saloon for burgers! See his LiveJournal post for details. 4:00 - Meet and Greet / Sign In -- the traditional opening event. Sign in, get your laminates, and enjoy the scenery -- gorgeous goths and the incredible mountain views! Of course, most of you know DJ Satori, from Las Vegas. We're thrilled to have him along with SLC-based DJ Nothing, who will also be on stage Saturday night as part of Redemption. We have to shut off the music at 10pm in the Courtyard, but we don't have to go to bed. Hang out, talk, and just enjoy the fantastic space with your friends, or grab a late night bite to eat of cocktails at one of the many drinking establishments in the neighborhood. Remember, though: there is NO SMOKING in the hotel, and this includes the Courtyard. There are designated smoking areas behind the hotel, and you are allowed to smoke in front of the hotel, at least 25 feet from the entrance. Dry Goods Market - noon-5pm -- One thing you can't do much of in the mountains of Utah is shop for cool goth stuff. But that's okay; we bring it to you! Vendors include Arsenic Fashions, Christal Blu Creations, Holzer & Combe Haberdashery, Kitty's Jewelry, Sigh Co Graphics, and Tombo Studios. Daytime Excursions -- Take a trip over the mountains to Park City, or head down into Salt Lake City. Plan your own early group dinner, or take a ride on the zip line, alpine slides, or aerial tram. Head up a trail for some amazing wildflower photography. You can even take a horseback ride. Evening activities - The Big Gothic Industrial Tent Revival at The StarBar: CarrieMonster is a long-time Chicago DJ with Convergence roots deeper than most; she's back on the decks as part of the Vampire Social Club. Voodoo, of San Francisco's House of Voodoo, has been spinning for over 20 years, and lays down a mix of gothic rock, glam, classic industrial, deathrock, and darkwave, with a touch of the unexpected. And don't miss Saturday's fantastic bands: the explosive deathrock of Tragic Black, Salt Lake's heirs to the goth-rock throne, Redemption (bound), and of course, San Francisco's The RaZor Skyline, who mix deeply beautiful music with industrial beats and the gorgeous vocals of our own Miska Kazda for a perfect, danceably dark melange. Dry Goods Market - noon-5pm -- A day of rest? No way. Finish your shopping! Daytime Excursions -- If you didn't go see the wildflowers yesterday, seriously -- grab the nearest hot model/photographer and a camera, and go walk around. Or check out one of the other options for things to do on your summer vacation. Don't miss the art gallery, featuring Tanya Bjork, Sharyl Sykora, and Jeff Carlisle. Evening activities - The Silver King Underground at Flanagan's on Main: On Sunday, get stompy with SLC's industrial powerhouse, Carphax Files, and then get your groove on with Salt Lake resident DJ-about-town, Reverend 23, who mixes a variety of industrial, EBM, and harsh music, has over 14 years of DJing experience. David Industrial, of more clubs in California than you can count on your fingers, and a recent transplant to Salt Lake City joins him. Rounding out the night is Southern California's DJ Fluffs McKenzie. I know they'll bring us a fantastic night of crunchier tunes to dance the evening away! (Want a TRULY industrial tie-in? Industrial Worker of the World, Joe Hill, worked in Park City's Silver King Mine at the time he was accused.)
