HOTEL INFORMATIONThe Convergence 10 committee is pleased to announce the selection of the Congress Plaza Hotel as the official hotel to host Convergence 10.
The second 24 hour room is located in the Grant Park room, overlooking Grant Park (of course!). Details of all function rooms will be posted in a separate announcement. If you are interested, you can check out the Congress Plaza Hotel website and peek at some of the function rooms were are using: The Florentine, The Lake Shore, The Grant, The Gold, The Belmont, The Francis I & The Plaza. ROOM RATES:The Congress Plaza Hotel & convention center will offer the following special rates for Convergence10: Single/Double $109/night
The quoted rates are net, non-commissionable subject to the local hotel occupancy tax, which is currently 14.9%. Should attendees plan to arrive three days prior to or depart three days after the official meeting dates, The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center will be glad to extend the above special Convergence 10 rate, based upon availability. RESERVATION PROCEDURES AND CUT OFF DATE:All reservations must be made no later than 3/30/2004 12:00:00 AM. Any further reservations made after 3/30/2004 12:00:00 AM will be accepted on a space available basis at the negotiated group rate. All reservations must be guaranteed for arrival by a first nights deposit or a major credit card. All guaranteed reservations that are not registered on the night of arrival will be billed to the credit card or the deposit will be forfeited. Also, the reservation will be canceled for all future nights of that reservation. Individuals must identify themselves with CONVERGENCE 10 to receive the group rate. Requests must go directly to the Congress Plaza reservation department at the following numbers: 312/427-3800 EXT. 5025 1-800-635-1666 Note: After 3/30/2004, any rooms remaining in the Convergence 10 block will be open for general sale. Making your reservations early can help insure Convergence 10 attendees’ rooms are all blocked together.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT TIMES:Check-in time is 3:00 PM. Guests arriving before 3:00 PM will be roomed based on availability of vacant and clean rooms. Baggage storage with the Bell Captain is available for early arrivals unable to occupy rooms. Checkout time is 12:00 Noon. After 6:00 PM checkout, guest will be assessed a full day at the contracted group rate. Originally
designed and built in 1893 to accommodate visitors to the Columbian
World’s Exposition, the guest rooms and suites of the Congress Plaza
are truly spacious by today’s standards. The hotel is located in downtown
Chicago directly across from Buckingham fountain and walking distance
from many Chicago attractions such as the Art Institute of Chicago,
The Magnificent Mile, The Sears Tower, Grant Park and The Beautiful
Lakeshore.

Convergence 10 committee is also pleased to announce that there will
be two hospitality rooms which will be open around the clock for the
duration of the festival. The main hospitality/after-party room, The
Raphael, is on the main floor overlooking Michigan avenue, directly
adjacent to The Tavern Tap Pub, and spills out into the main public
area (hotel lobby)
