- - - - - - - - - - -[ thursday ]- - - - - - - - - - - Even though Thursday and Monday are not official Convergence days, we've decided to coordinate some entertainment for those arriving early or leaving late. Because of the rigors of travel, many people stay more than precisely three days at Convergence. In addition, this gives visitors more opportunities to explore New York City according to their own particular interests. Events scheduled on Thursday and Monday are strictly optional and very informal.
Early Meet & Greet For individuals arriving early, we will be setting up a preview version of the following day's Meet & Greet at the hotel. This will provide an opportunity for early arrivals to meet up, ask questions of Convergence 7 staff, and pick up packages and laminates. Jekyll & Hyde's We'll start with a special limited-seating early dinner at the unforgettable Jekyll and Hyde's. This macabre theme restaurant delights guests with talking skeletons, mechanical monsters (corny jokes included), costumed waiters in character, and 19th century decor that is sure to raise hairs and sardonic grins. Their food is generally high quality, and their selection of exotic beers is awe-inspiring. Reservations will be required. Early Arrival Clubnite For visitors who want a sampling of the local Gothic-Industrial scene, we are negotiating discounted entry for Convergence attendees to Long Black Veil one of the more popular and long-enduring events in the city. LBV (also known briefly as Fang Club Gotham) blends gothic, industrial, vampire, and fetish subcultures into its own highly individualistic style. The atmosphere is always friendly, and the DJs are among the best in the city. There will be musical performances at Long Black Veil on this night as well. |
